About Us
The University of Food Technology (UHT) in Plovdiv has a rich history of more than seventy years and remarkable traditions. It is one of the most important centers in Bulgaria in the field of food science and technology, the only one of its kind on the Balkan Peninsula.
University training in food science and technology began in September 1948 - the "Agricultural Technology" department was created at the new Agronomy-Forestry (later renamed Agronomy) Faculty of Plovdiv University "Paisiy Hilendarski". It was here that the training of specialists with higher education in the field of food technology began for the first time in the country.
