Job Description

This communications internship is a 3-6 month role and it requires an energetic, dedicated and detail-oriented person who can manage multiple tasks. The candidate has to be a team-player with an entrepreneurial spirit, willingness to learn and ability to manage multiple tasks while adapting to shifting priorities.
Depending on skillset, this individual will assist with communications tasks including, but not limited to: writing and editing, photo and video production and editing, web and social media tracking, media relations, digital asset management, event coordination and other communications and administrative support tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist in developing communication plans for various corporate projects, programs and initiatives.
- Develop innovative ideas for communicating news and information to company stakeholders.
- Assist in implementing and planning, company communication events.
- Create content that motivates and informs employees of important issues, accomplishments, and events involving the company.
- Design internal announcements, evites and other materials for events.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
Interns should meet the following requirements:
- Active enrolment in a university or similar educational programme in Communication, Journalism, Information Studies, Media Studies, Social Science or any related field;
- 3rd or 4th year degree university students.
- Able to work preferably 3.5 days a week.
- Interest in the field of development especially related to communication and branding.
- Written and spoken proficiency in English
- Strong communications skills: excellent listening skills and empathy, ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and other related software.
- Able to use Canva effectively.
- Demonstrable experience in media communications including social media.
- Ability to adapt to new environments and to establish and maintain good working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.
- Integrity: exercising the appropriate discretion when working with confidential and sensitive matters and information
