Principle Accountabilities
Coach and lead laboratory analysts in the Plant Laboratory.
Ensure that the Plant laboratory complies with Shell Group or local standards (whichever is the more stringent) and external HSSE requirements and fully deliver the HSSE plan.
Ensure the Laboratory in the plant complies with requirements of the Lubricant and Grease Quality System (LQS & GQS)
Supervise/perform the following duties:
Sampling and laboratory testing of lubricants raw materials and lubricants and grease finished products
Interpretation of test data to determine if products meet specification, and certifying products for sale to end customers.
Manage Lab activities for Formulation -Localisation studies due to requests from Quality Manager.
Participate in the quarterly Lubricants Laboratory Correlation Scheme (LLCS) and Grease Laboratory Correlation Scheme (GLCS).
Fully compliant with ISO 9001 Management Quality system, ISO27001 Information security management systems, IATF 16949 International Automotive Task Force , TS EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems standards/procedures/work instruction
Follow up calibration periods of the equipments in the system and complete/record them on time
authority to stop production to correct quality problems
authority to call back Certificate of Analysis
Act as a focal point for Product Stewardship (Safety Data Sheets). Ensure that all chemicals in the plant are used according to their Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Update the visuals in the plant related with SDSs
to ensure that the wastes are classified according to their types (contaminated boxes, papers, plastics etc)
Act as a back-up in the absence of Quality Manager.
Key / Special Challenges
LSC is now entering the implementation and delivery stage of its journey and a number of key initiatives need to be addressed including GSAP/Streamline, Journey to Excellence and Asset Integrity – Process Safety programme.
A key challenge of the role will be to ensure, sustain and further develop alignment of the local operations with global initiatives and to secure high standard of performances, best practice sharing and joint initiatives across the regional and envelope operations boundaries.
