Job Description:

PURPOSE

Responsible for managing Credit Vetting/Assessment for the credit portfolio for Turkey Credit Operations for Commercial Fuels, SFS, Mobility and Lubricants Lines of Businesses.

Supporting the Country Credit Manager (CCM) on strategic risk management tasks as the team leader after the merge of CBC-COC teams under one team in the onshore OU. Acting as the back-up of CCM and representing Credit function in the JV Credit Committee meetings where necessary.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the efficient and effective management of credit risk within the defined area of responsibility in line with OCC directives. Responsible for the risk assessment of customers, negotiating and managing security arrangements, establishment of appropriate credit limits with necessary MOA and the analysis of the overall credit exposure & the re-assessment of credit worthiness of customers based on re-evaluation triggers and timelines.

Liaise with business units to appropriately balance and optimize portfolio risk ensuring adequate use of risk mitigating collateral as appropriate, regularly meeting with business units to review portfolio risk, ensuring credit analysis representation and participation on each business unit credit committee. Proactively identify areas of increasing risk, e.g.at customer level, sector level, industry level.

Focus on individual and team development, thereby strengthening credit competencies, establishing “stretch” goals to drive performance and embedding a culture of delivery to targets via regular coaching and performance appraisal.

Ensuring business continuity by proactively and reactively managing and acting on blocked orders, and/or consequently dealing with risk implications associated with exposures beyond current approved credit limits.

Responsible for engaging and managing effective relationships with key stakeholders within Finance Operations, Finance in the Business, OTC and Sales, to ensure that alignment of objectives takes place, delivery of functional plan is achieved, and targets are met.

Responsible for engaging and managing relationships with external Shell customers and external agencies, to ensure that a balance of risk and reward is maintained and communicated.

Provide interpretation of policy and guide the businesses on the principles of sound credit management. Keep up-to-date on issues within the businesses by having close relationships with the sales managers and reading information from industry sources. Conduct customer visits as required. Meet with owners/officers of major customers as necessary to represent business in negotiating higher risk/exposure credit facilities


Aranan Nitelikler

• Degree in Accounting or related Finance/Business degree
• Minimum 7 years relevant credit or financial experience demonstrating strong financial analysis skills, supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong diplomatic negotiating skills with ability to make tough decisions and implement action steps to resolve credit issues while maintaining customer relationships.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities for team projects with ability to motivate team efforts and lead and influence outside organizational boundaries.
• Ability to provide a more innovative and practical financing solution to help Shell manage credit risk, working capital, and support business to grow profitably with excellent knowledge of the market, competitors and local banking infrastructure.
• Possess strategic thought processes to be able to design and implement IPP Credit initiatives including digitalization and growth strategies, which involve internal/external stakeholders.
• English level C1
• Fluent in Turkish
