Job Description:
In order to support our growth journey in NFR (non fuel retail) business, some of our foundational pillars are expanding market footprint with new customer offers, executing best in class category basics in field, launching new deli2go products and implementing new business models in category management. In this growth journey, we are targeting to deliver our ambitious goals by also focusing on delivering excellent customer experience. Link & communication between suppliers, central teams and field teams are crucial for a seamless customer journey.
In this ambitious growth journey, we are looking for a “Category Manager” in CR (convenience retail) Team to deliver the main categories growth plans and executions.
Lead and Deliver Growth in Category with Golden Circle Ambitions
• Understand & lead category dynamics & trends to manage the product range and assortment.
• Evaluate & understand the business magnitude of each category and prepare a plan to grow in turnover and margin.
• Responsible for creating the Joint Business Plans with top suppliers.
• Manage and develop sustainable supplier relationships.
• Execute effective supplier management for his/her categories.
• Leading category development projects with contracting and purchasing, marketing or related parties.
• Managing assigned FMCG contracts in accordance with the category growth targets
• Coordinate the promotional materials and new private label artwork development processes with marketing, 3PL agencies, suppliers, and related parties.
• Coordinating the recording, analysing, and invoicing processes of supplier income and royalty incomes. Taking responsibility of managing related parties such as finance, suppliers, revenue, and growth management team in the process
• Developing sufficient relationship with field sales teams and implementing the category execution plans through them.
• Work collaboratively with global category managers, ensure sufficient communication with them, and demonstrate a local ownership for global category management tasks.
• Managing supply chain change demands of Snacks & NAB category products due to appearing supply issues (providing direct delivery/indirect delivery options)
Category and Private Label Development Projects
• Support the collaborative work with current & new suppliers in line with C&P team and related stakeholders to significantly expand the deli2go (PL) product range and launch new private label products / product groups (NAB, Snacks and Health categories)
• Develop and create planograms for related categories and PL products & align with field teams for execution.
• Challenge & help field teams to have best in class PL offer execution for stores and customer journey.
• Creating new promotional offers for PL products together with mobility marketing team and executing by delivery through field sales team to boost “always win” loyalty program.
• Supporting development of CR Coffee business with developing a complementary PL product range, improve customer journey with snacks category product and promotion developments.
• Working collaboratively and closely with HSSE team to ensure and develop PL suppliers’ food safety capabilities.
Accountabilities
• Understanding of non-alcoholic beverages (NAB), snacks and health categories roles and dynamics in convenience retail business.
• Ensure profitability growth targets are delivered.
• Manage & develop effective and productive supplier relationship with 30+ suppliers.
• Support to develop supplier joint business plans and annual category plans to maximize category profitability.
• Executing a prominent level of contract management including organizing annual joint business plans, BPR meetings, continuous condition improvements to deliver margin increase and ensuring to operate in Shell ethics & compliance rules.
• Understand the supplier roles and assortments, market data, micro and macro trends and show support to have the optimum category 4P (product, price, place, and promotions).
• Create new revenue streams and find new ways of creating value from related categories.
• Unlock the value with focusing “integrated value creation projects” within retail team.
• Demonstrate sufficiency in communication and coordination skills to become a suitable candidate of being focal of NFR in some key projects, work with different departments to extract value for NFR & Retail team.
• Managing REM tool contract holder responsibility and REM Category Improvements as NFR REM Focal
