Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is the business analyst for Trading & Supply Distribution Operations, including Joint Venture (JV) Facilities, supporting Distribution Operations Manager, Shell’s Shareholder representatives, JVs board directors, Terminal Managers, . The person will be based in Istanbul with frequent visits to terminals. The position will support own terminals and JV’s where required such as optimization projects, benchmarking analysis and improvement projects.
Key tasks will include review and analysis of performance of own terminals and joint venture companies, increase optimization and efficiency in terminals and close follow up of operating expenses, investments as well as alignment with Shell standards and procedures. The person is expected to coordinate different functions within Shell (i.e. Operations, Finance, Engineering, HSSE, Marine, HR, Legal & Compliance) and within the Joint ventures and JV partners while carrying out key tasks.
• Maintain, review, comment and report, on a monthly basis, the financial, operational and HSSE related KPIs of Turkey’s distribution terminals with a focus on JV facilities.
• Prepare high quality presentations for ad-hoc studies according to department needs
• Prepare annual T&R budget for own & JV terminals and follow up with team leads for meeting the target budget allocated to avoid overspending where possible, follow-up cost savings programs, revenue and tariff schemes
• Coordinate terminals benchmarking study
• Prepare performance dashboards to support Business Performance Reviews with business relevant information
• Develop tools and models to effectively monitor facilities’ performance and competitive position.
• Provide terminal-related information and analyses to other departments where needed.
• Keep track of tank maintenance programs of terminals and keep an updated tank database with in/out of service information, support Products team by sharing the data on monthly basis
• Build and grow digitalisation focus and culture when improving tools and methods
• Coordinate JV Monthly Review meetings to share updated JV performance with Shareholder Representative and key stakeholders by collecting relevant business data from JV Terminals Monthly Reports
• Coordinate JV Entity Review meetings for each JV on yearly basis to support key stakeholders in the preparation of JV strategy, value plan and influencing plan with key stakeholders. Follow-up/report Key Focus Areas of the JV Entity Reviews.
• Coordinate the internal and external assurance activities in JVs internally
• Support JV facilities manager in management of JV contracts
• Provide support to Turkey Operations JV Facilities Manager to apply Shell’s standards in JV operations.
• Support shareholder representative to complete JV Self Assurance tool on yearly basis
• Support the development and implementation of JV HSSE plan, coordinates his/her own HSSE site visits to drive visible leadership, report the outcomes of the visits
• Manage & sustain file plan and records regarding JVs: agreements, board meeting slides and minutes, ordinary assemblies, annual reports, audit reports and other necessary documentation
• Coordination of Asset Integrity /Process Safety Reviews in JV terminals with subject matter experts

• Has outstanding communication skills
• Has an engineering degree (MBA is an asset)
