Job Description:

To support the ambition of Mobility DS becoming the most innovative and competitive energy company in the world, Continuous Improvement (CI) has emerged as one of the strategic levers, consistently emphasized by the Mobility DS CEO and key business leaders.

In Mobility CI will be a key enabler to the Mobility Mission: Making life’s journeys better by enriching today and creating a more sustainable tomorrow and support delivery of the Mobility Ambitions

Continuous Improvement aims to deliver:

• Create common culture, mind-set and approach of ongoing structured improvement as part of the Retail Ways of Working

• Freeing time for staff to support business priorities

• Reducing costs to reinvest and drive growth

• Digitalization in daily working either with digital tools or automation

Since 2012, Retail has successfully implemented the CI strategy and approach endorsed by the RMT. To accelerate the journey and help meet the challenges ahead, the RMT endorsed the creation of full time CI roles, leading to this posting in Mobility. This role is therefore a unique opportunity to contribute to the next phase of the Retail CI journey in support of the functions strategic objectives, as well as acquire very valuable CI (Lean Sigma) skills.

Working hand in hand with the Mobility Business and in conjunction with the Europe & South Africa Mobility CI team, the purpose of the role is to lead a number of CI activities aimed at improving Mobility’s business results, sustainably & help it achieve its business & CI goals.

 The role will provide the incumbent with high visibility from senior business and CI leaders and an opportunity to make tangible contributions to address the value gap.

The role will be embedded in the business where the process landscape provides good context for improvement through CI techniques, working with the Mobility CI team and other delivery partners to improve processes with high value bottom line impact.

Dimensions

Shell Turkey has about approx. 1161 sites as of Nov,23. CI is a strategic lever to delivering and growing the C5 of the business.

• Benchmark data shows that the incumbent should deliver a minimum of USD 1 mln bottom line benefit for the function or the business

• Projects led by the incumbent will also typically improve key metrics performance, generate savings or add business value

Shell Turkey aims to have standardized and simplified investment process and contracts with less terms to negotiate in Dovamo. Thanks to simple and automated investment process, the working will be more efficient, visible, controlled and completed in a digital process. To achieve this:

• The role requires a high caliber individual capable of interfacing with/influencing multiple stakeholder groups (amongst which are Business Leaders and CI team)

• Ability and strong motivation to drive and sustain the change within teams and organization. Strong motivation for embedding CI mindset within daily operations, changing ways of working and embedding retail ways of working within the organization.

• Ability to kick off, run and finalize e2e complex value stream projects.

• Ability to work on an end to end basis in a cross-functional matrix environment, to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels, managing competing demands from different stakeholders

• Ability to work out problems or design new approaches from a sound base of Lean Sigma knowledge

• Ability to operate, think and decide with minimal senior guidance within a framework defined at the global/ regional level

• Team Player – Ability to work with people from various work streams cutting across functional boundaries and solicit partnership

• Ability to manage multiple complex items, whilst being effective at delivering through others / other teams.

• Able to identify process gaps/waste and recommend improvements to ensure that process tasks are operated efficiently and effectively, strong analytical and problem solving ability

• Able to convey complex messages in a summarized and succinct manner to senior stakeholders and gain steering or support as required

• Working and communicating in a global, virtual organization.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the business, retail processes and activities value drivers

• Project Management experience and skills

• Multitasking personality. Able to handle various tasks at the same time, whilst being resilient and flexible under pressure and changing situations.

• A self-starter and self-motivated personality, ability create own approaches for delivery.

• Hardworking personality, willing to get his/ her hands dirty. Successful at managing ambiguity and taking out tangible results from ambiguity.

• Strong problem solving and structuring skills and creativity for designing best possible solutions and approaches.

• Strong drive and energy, high motivation and dedication for delivery.

• Strong desire to build owns competence in CI (Lean Sigma)

• Proven track record on stakeholder management

• Demonstrated effectiveness in leading cross-functional teams, driving change

• Demonstrated strong analytical, interpretive and presentation skills; able to synthesize complex information and prepare concise, compelling presentations.

• Strong communicator

• Good coaching skills (coaching delivery)

• Whilst the incumbent will be trained as a Black Belt, being already trained as a Black Belt or even Green Belt would be an advantage

• Knowledge of the Mobility business and the e2e process and architecture.
