Job Description:
Job Purpose:
• To contribute to the optimisation of the distribution scheduling operations by collecting performance data, analyse the data and translate in recommendations for improvements, managing related systems and tools applications ensuring alignment with the tactical business requirements and provide scheduling expertise to the rest of scheduling team at the top of regular scheduling duties.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Senior Scheduler is expected to perform all the Scheduler duties and responsibilities and will be assigned to a scheduling scope
• Senior Scheduler is expected to have the competency to perform scheduling activities in all scopes in country
• Ensure all customer data and equipment are properly registered in SAP and scheduling IT tools (e.g. products, tanks, delivery time windows and SLAs for each site, trucks weight, drivers data, site location map)
• Act as leader in-charge in operational matters and issues with the scheduling team
• Generate the OTD Scheduling updates for the OTD Manager
• Contribute in achieving operational targets through process compliance and competency building by:
o Assisting in training new staff and staff going to new scopes
o Analysing OTD KPIs together with the RT Business Advisor and where necessary attending to business review meetings
• Participate in stakeholder meetings, to share scheduling performance and feedback.
• Train schedulers in the use of tools
• Create reports for management and stakeholders
• Support scheduling efficiency and CI projects/initiatives
• Lead global road transport strategy scheduling project
Special Challenges:
• Coach and lead team members in ongoing operations and exceptional, non-standard situations on daily basis as well
• Close teamwork within the scope and in particular with DSSS to drive best OtD E2E decisions
• Balance stress, conflicting priorities and time pressures against the need to product an effective and viable schedule
• Workload in Festive periods, price change days, high season (summer) and weekends
• Scheduling in high risk country for road safety,
• Ensure compliant scheduling with VRIP rules
• Expanding the VMI network
